Flash Report!

Sunday was tough day.  Had to get second painful deep tissue therapy to try to get me running again.  Had a couple conference calls.  Could only do life-cycle, not bike outside, because of leg.  (did do 42 min of lifecycle with medium intensity, plus 20 minutes of other stuff).  Had nice hour long walk outside with Denise.

Lunch had one serving of veggie.  But then had business dinner in San Francisco. Did conference call on the way up.  Other person picked Italian restaurant, not known for veggies.  Only half serving of veggie, I could have done better, kind of forgot about it.

Dinner over at 9:30 pm.  Drove 40 min to teammate house to go over some compensation stuff live while I am in northern California.  Left at about 10:30, got home about 11.  Bed at midnight, heading in for workout now.

Life’s rich pageant!  Do good, it’s contagious!

Yo DaVitans!

Some have asked what a clambake is, and why it is called that.

A clambake is when we spend 1-4 days in a relentless series of back-to-back meetings on subjects that need intense review, followed by working dinners.  A clambake in normal life, as you know, is a fun event when friends get together outside and have a good time, relaxing and eating.

Sound similar, right?  Anyway, below is the Clambake schedule for a day last week, to give you a flavor.

Yo MTM VII, FLASH REPORT

One of the tough aspects of my lucky life is I eat out a lot in places where it is hard to control quality.  Last night’s birthday dinner for my mother-in-law, with 65 attendees in the dining room of a senior living home was one example.  The green beans were good, but skimpy.  The staff was working so hard to serve everyone it did not feel right to ask a special favor, and we were orchestrating toasts, etc.   However I did rally by having a big bowl of ice cream when we got home last night.  A good 1.5 servings of ice cream, after what was probably only a half serving of green beans.

Saturday lunch, however, had a full serving of tomatoes, carrots, and zucchini.

I think I already reported on Saturday exercise, and my injury.  It was difficult to walk last night.

Today is a couple of conference calls, a business dinner followed by a short meeting near the airport.  Tomorrow I fly to LA first thing for another fun day with HCP!

More later … KT

FLASH REPORT.

Friday dinner was tomato and cucumber salad, a robust 1 serving.  Friday lunch was 1.5 servings of zucchini, with some good salmon and rice.

Saturday first attempt at exercise fizzled, I was running up one of my favorite forest trails when my right leg cramped/tweaked badly.  Had to limp down.  Am now back at home, will see if I can get on lifecyle and get my workout in.  darn.

Hope you are having a better exercise day!

MTM FLASH REPORT

Landed at about 6 pm, home by 6:45, ran into gym for 22 minutes of low intensity lifecycle while I read healthcare stuff, then 6 minutes of stretching.

Next comes a colorful choice – red wine!

I must confess that at midnight last night I had a big cheeseburger, which I think somewhat offset the benefits of my fish dinner.  Oh well ….

Have a great weekend, my 3600 Partners in Health!

MTM FLASH

Double order of non-creamed spinach last night at dinner.  Plus veggies that came with mahi-mahi, another half serving.  Had cup of fruit thru course of day.  Did normal morning workout yesterday, but was up until 1 am and had to get up at 6:30 so will miss workout this am!  That does not happen often.  Hope to get workout in once I fly home tonight, before dinner.

Have a good one!  kt

Yo DaVita !!

This morning was 191.4 again.  I am flying to LA first thing, will be in San Francisco this weekend for my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday, and then back to LA on Monday.  So I will not get to be back to my home scale until Tuesday am, which I understand is 2 days after the end of MTM VII.  Village Vitality, can we send out the final numbers on that day?

Last night my salad was one serving, and the green beans with dinner were a second serving.  This morning I had the high fiber shredded wheat, the “Mayor’s produce”.  This morning I got up a little late, so I only had 22 minutes on the lifecycle, low intensity as I was listening to  voicemail and reading healthcare stuff (that is what I do pretty much every time on the lifecycle thru the first x minutes, until I reach the big hills).  In addition I did 8 minutes of high quality stretching, I need to do a lot more knee rehab to try to stop it from buckling at random moments.  My left knee apparently thinks I have done too much running the last 2 weeks, as I ramped that up quite a bit in Wisconsin last week.  Was glorious!

Today will be back-to-back meetings all day until 7 pm, then a group dinner with 8 HCP teammates, then an after dinner meeting with Dennis Kogod, then an hour of email, then bed!  Life’s rich pageant.

All the best, KT
