Desserts are the enemy – at least one of them 😀

I am enjoying this so much, love my team and encouraging them. I live near the beach and look forward to my long walk/jogs. It makes such a difference for me..my team name is “Bound & Determined” Strong Bodies, Stronger Minds! I have lost 7lbs since we started this and it really makes me accoutable when I think about MTM. Don’t forget we got the 4th of July coming up, I plan a head when going to celebrations. I usually will seek out the low-fat stuff or since I love to cook I will make something that I can share and know it is safe for me to eat. I am making homemade Mango Salsa with pita chips for a party we are going to. It is always a hit! Happy 4th of July to all and I am so thankful that we live in a Free Country!

Thanks KT – it must be a challenge to eat out as much as you do – kudos for giving up the dessert.
Maggie – thanks for reminding me about the food challenges of July 4th. I am invited to a BBQ. I usually bring a nice green salad (people always say they are making salad but it usually winds up being macaroni or potato salad!)and a big bowl of fruit salad. This way I am assured of having something healthy to eat and the temptation is minimized. A little Greek yogurt with some unsweetened cocoa and sweetner, tops with crushed nuts, helps me get past those tempting desserts.
Thanks all for your words of motivation!!!

    Hi KT,

I enjoy reading your posts over here in the Team Evergreen business office. I am currently an intern in the tax pack. I was curious about types of health supplements you take when working out. Do you ever take any Whey Protein Isolate after a hard workout? If not, have you ever tried taking any protein supplements to aid muscle recovery? I was also curious what your stance is on multi-vitamins? Do you take any?

    KT –
I am off and on when it comes to a daily general purposed multi-vitamin thing. the studies do not really support it making a difference, and I get a lot of good stuff in my normal diet – although I eat too much of it. Regarding nutritional supplements, if I am out for more than a 2 hour tough bike ride I take endurolytes to replace electrolytes because I sweat a lot … and sometimes perpetuum as boost during the second half. And then if it is a long and exhausting one on the muscles, where they are really hurting, I take Recoverite after. I was quite skeptical, but it works, I am far less sore and stiff the next day. kt

KT – A formidable enemy it is ….
