Megan Kemp, TACOMA, WATacoma, Washington is home to Chambers Bay golf course, the site of the 2015 U.S. Open Championship! I’m delighted to spend more time on the four-mile trail that winds through the golf course and provides breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the links style golf course. Part of the trail has grades in excess of 10%! My goal for Health Trails is to spend more time there, upping the ante for myself. Health Trails is a great program, for which I am grateful!

KT- Dear Megan – how will you know if it is more time? will you be tracking? Do you know what your pattern has been? All the best, KT

Simona Williams, FLORENCE, ALThis is just the motivation I needed to restart my physical activity. Some many times things come up and I say tomorrow and this summer tomorrow has never really come. I look forward to recommitting myself to daily exercise. I have started playing tennis again and will be playing at least weekly. I have a 2.3 mile walk tonight and in the AM and tennis tomorrow as well. Thanks for this DaVita.

KT- Yo Simona, Don’t overdo it in the beginning if that will make it tougher to keep going! I say this with a body so stiff it is almost creaking today. It will be a bear to get back on the trail or road today – but I will! Take care, KT

Michael Kichline, SELLERSVILLE, PACan’t wait to get home to take the family out on a hike, we are planning on doing some “Geocaching” along the way. This is a great way to motivate me and my family.

KT- Dear Michael, I wish I knew enough to do some geocoaching. Perhaps you can share a little with the entire MTM team! KT

Carol Ann Runcik, KANSAS CITY, MOI am so super excited to venture out on my trail.

KT- Dear Carol Ann – we are excited to have you with us! KT

Jean Millet, ONTARIO, CAHi Marisol, I invited DeeDee Wells to join our team since we only have 2 members. She walks every morning with her dogs.

KT- Jean, please extend my welcome to DeeDee, and her dogs! KT

Elaine Morris, NORTH LAS VEGAS, NVYup. Time to join together and produce better choices and results by cheering each other on!

    KT- Darn straight. KT

Marisol Avila, YUCAIPA, CAWe are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit. –Aristotle

KT- Yo Marisol, that is one of the quotes I keep around as well. I have a collection I use to remind me of important insights. KT

Lillian Cruz, ROCKY HILL, CTHi Teammates welcome the Health Trails, my goal is to stop using all blood pressure medicines as well as not becoming a diabetic, my sugar has been border line, it’s a wakeup call for me. I also want to inspire every teammate that by exercising and eating healthier, you can reach your goal. Thank you Mayor for giving us an incentive to live healthier.

KT- Dear Lillian, YOU GO GIRL! Let’s get off those meds and see that fasting blood glucose drop, or even better hb1ac! We are with you, 800 strong!! KT

Elizabeth Seeley, DEERFIELD BEACH, FLHello. I’m a new teammate – this is my first Health Trials – very excited! I wasn’t able to attend the webinars… Thanks!

KT- Dear Elizabeth, welcome to the Village! We are not perfect, but many wonderfully healthy neighborhoods do exist, making a difference for teammates, patients, and the world. KT

Paula Dixon, BALTIMORE, MDWoo-hoo we are number one today!! Have to revel in it now, as once everyone else logs on we may not be # one again!!!!

KT- Yo Paula, congrats on being #1 … for now! KT

Sandra Cook-Stewart, BOISE, IDI had such a great time on Route 66 last year! I’ve been looking forward to matching our Mayor again this year;)

KT- Dear Sandra, this is one situation where the Mayor does not mind being matched, or even beaten! KT

Margie Locke, NORTH WINDHAM, CTI always get super motivated with the mayor each year hope this is a good one. Come on Windham come join me. Can’t wait to start something new but do so slow….

    KT-
Let’s do it again Margie, help each other to a healthier life …. KT

THANK YOU KT. Working in Patient Accounting there is a lot of sitting and a lot of “snacking”. Everyone in my team is walking 3 times a day together outside and holding each other accountable for what goes in our mouth. This program is AWESOME! Thank YOU AGAIN for the inspiration to get off my toosh and get out there!

On the 17th I decided to ride my bike, I made it to the end of the drive way, turned around and went back. It was 107 degrees. I jogged up and down my stairs for 10 minutes, thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. The diet of fruits and veggies is forthcoming, I did have onion rings though.

Excited to get started again. I enjoyed route 66 last year and this year seems to have even more improvements. Starting out slow with exercise, but I am motivated to do 300 minutes a week with the diet, might make a little progress with the 10-15 pounds I want to lose this year.
