I am so glad to be joining so many people on this journey of health and wellness. I have gone through a lot the past couple years and have not made time for myself to be the person I really want to be. I am doing that now through food changes and lots of exercise. I have to say that I had lost my enthusiasm for exercise, but being around all the people in the Village that are motivated to get out there and be better it has helped push me in the right direction. I wish everyone blessings on their journey’s down this healthy road!

I had a poor start to my day as I did not get up early enough to exercise this AM (important in Florida this time of the year – high humidity & heat -yuck). However,I am determined to walk around our circle here at work during my lunch break and to ride my bike this evening after supper. Not my usual beginning with weights or biking several miles, but it’s something to get moving! Next, no more junk food & sweets. I am determined to lose weight & get into shape. I have a loving husband and three grandchildren to stay healthy for & so I feel good about me!!

Thanks for doing this again. Last year, I started with sit ups for 15 minutes in the morning. Today, I’m up at 4:30am every day and at the gym by 5:30am 3 days (and doing laundry the other 2! LOL!). Even joined Boot Camp at the gym this past summer and signed up again for the fall. I have lost a little weight and one inch around my core. My goal is to have my abs back by Christmas and in good shape to prepare training for Tour DaVita 2011.

OK, I was apart of the first Match the Mayor and did okay with that one but this year has really been the year of change for me. I started off that by the end of March quitting smoking and now after 6 months I am ready to move forward to making the complete health change in my lifestyle. For the weekend of the KATR|W I am also planning on doing the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. So that weekend I will have walked 10K and need to get ready for it.

I participated last year and enjoyed it very much, it kept me accountable. Last year I started @ 205 lbs, this year I start at 160 lbs and have gone down several dress sizes. I still have about 20 lbs to go to reach my goal, eating low fat, high protein diet and exercising regular has been the key to my success…I wish you all well in our journey!

I am really excited about this and trying to get as many people in my department excited as well. I have lost a total 65 since I started my weight loss journey and still have a ways to go so this will definately help and keep me motivated. Good luck to all!! We can do this!!
