I think you did great, considering all the circumstances. You can make it!!

PS. Thanks for coming to the Academy. It was so fun to see you after 2 days of getting pumped up to work for Davita. Thanks for all you do. I’m so proud to work for you and this company!

Oh thank you KT !! For letting me/us know that you have weeks that just “don’t work out right”.

When I would read your journal I would be in awe of all you manage to do – with all your DaVita responsibilities plus between meetings and family and traveling (and sleep), you still were able to get your exercise in.

Even though my goal was to do 5 miles of aerobic walking per week instead of losing weight, I have had so much on my plate the last couple of weeks I was lucky to get in one or two miles, much less five! (Up until I went on vacation I was actually ahead of my goal.) But seeing that you had a time of “just too much to fit into one day” made me feel that I wasn’t “letting the team down” or “failing” to meet my goal.

I should be able to finish up this last week with five miles done. If I do it will end up with 5 weeks of meeting goal, 5 weeks of exceeding my goal and 3 weeks (vacation covered just under two of those weeks) not meeting goal. So I guess I didn’t do too bad.

Thanks also for letting us get a glimpse of your work day/week. It really made me feel connected to the Village as a whole instead of just being off in “my little corner” of it.

Hope you can get those last pounds off, and keep them off. When the “90 days” is up, I’m going to keep trying to do between 5 and 10 miles of aerobic walking per week.

Thanks again for letting us be part of your support network and for being part of ours.
    Blessings.

    Tess

    Good afternoon teammates:
Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather (in Maryland, anyway) and having fun working on your goals. Alas, I had not stuck to my goal of 30 minutes exercise daily in a while, so I stopped writing in. I just do not seem to be able to get up in the morning with more than the exact time I need to get to work. The reason this is so troubling is that for many years I got up and swam daily.
After reading the notes from KT and others, I do feel more inspired. although there are only 7 days left, I can still do something, one day at a time. Yesterday I did Deep Water Aerobics for 30 minutes, and today I will have time in between work and an appointment to walk for 30 minutes. KT, how do you keep on getting up early and also what gives you the energy to keep such a long day?
With the survey today on this site, I identified something that would help me stick to my program–a buddy. I will work on getting a buddy to share walks and swims. Despite my lack of exercise and over eating, I have maintained my weight–no loss or gain! Carry on teammates!

    Hi Teammates,

I am also awestruck at what KT can accomplish in one day. Where the heck do you get all your energy?

I’m glad that KT assured our village that through all this economic turmoil, DaVita has been “virtually unaffected”. I’ve been wondering how DaVita has been doing and it’s very comforting to hear “from the top” that things in our village are ok. I look forward to hearing more on that topic!

Keep up the excellent work teammates! Best of luck reaching your goal in 90 days….and beyond. I don’t plan to stop after the 90 days. I’ve decided these changes in my life (quitting smoking-47 days smoke free so far, biking, and now losing weight) need to be permanent lifestyle changes. So even if I don’t lose all the weight I want by the 90th day, I’m going to do it, no matter how long it takes.

Best of luck to everyone who committed themselves to “Match The Mayor”!

    Hi KT,
I wanted to let you know, I started WeightWatchers last February and as of now I have love 45 pounds and work our just about every day (usually walking). At the age of 59 I feel the best I have ever felt, and look pretty good too.

Keep up this Healthy Teamwork for all of us!
