Good Morning Team !!
This unfortunately could be my last journal entry. I have the Board of Directors today and tomorrow, which means I am running from first thing after I type this until late tonight, and then first thing tomorrow. When the meeting ends tomorrow afternoon I race straight to the airport to fly to California. Once I land I race straight to a dinner in a camp called The Bohemian Grove. I am there until Monday at noon. There are no laptops or cell phones allowed. It is a time for hearing speakers, listening to music, watching plays, and exercise. I can do work, but it is planning work with good old fashioned paper and pen.
I will have only been home 2 mornings out of the final 18 or so within this MTM stretch. So I don’t know what my weight is, but I am not on track to hit the goal by this Sunday. That is the bad news, 2 years in a row.
The good news is I definitely ate more produce, and developed some new habits. Like the 2 serving smoothie I am eating/drinking right now. This part of MTM will make a lasting difference for me, taking me one step further than last year’s produce goal which got me going in the right direction.
The other good news is I definitely did more quiet time than I would have otherwise. I am not sure if I got this over the hump to be a new habit now.
On the exercise front, I did not do anything more or less than usual. I cherish my exercise, and consider it to be an obligation to give it to my body, given all I put my body through as a part of being Mayor of our Village with 67,000 teammates in 11 countries.
I hope each of you have developed momentum and a new habit or two in our collective quest for a healthier life. I am glad we are a Community First and a Company Second, and that we band together to support each other in team efforts like this.
One for All & All for One. Not just a slogan to some of us. Your Mayor, KT

Kudos to you for putting on MTM every year, and always striving to be a better version of yourself. I, too, strive to develop better habits and by particpating in MTM, I have become more mindful in my daily actions. Thank you for this fun challenge to become a better version of ourselves!

Good day! I have just discovered these blog entries and have forund them to be fun, enlightening and educational. In fact I am increasingly motivated to be involved! I like our dialysis patients have to follow diet restirctions because of food allergies. I find myself often sharing with my patients the importance of following the diet and can relate to them when it concerns not being able to indulge in certain foods when we really want to. I look forward to including my journey and hope I can also express more on how my patients motivate me to be an example of health. Thank you KT!!!

I barely have had time to read these posts until today, but it has sparked my curiosity on the home Village Web page all this time. My health has been something I have been focusing on for 2 months now. I have completely eliminated soda and juice (the juice was truly the harder to give up). I have been supplementing my diet with Yoli products (a system of natural health products to help boost your metabolism, detoxify, and increase energy). In these 2 months I have lost 12.5 pounds!!! I have the energy of a younger and more active version of myself now! I have returned to playing on adult soccer teams to twice/week as well as joined a roller derby team!!! I have the energy to look forward to these extra activities, even after putting in an 8 hour day; which has not been the case for a very long time! I’m excited to be a better example to patients and colleagues of living a healthy lifestyle, instead of speaking about it from handouts and the knowledge I have from nursing school. I hope to continue on this lifestyle change since I still have a lot of bad habits to make up for. Thank you KT, for your inspiring challenge and honest blog entries!

Happy Friday to all! I am excited to report that today I got on the scale and I have lost 3 more pounds! That makes 20 lost since April of this year! Yeah for me! I decided in April of this year, my birthday month, that I would give myself the gift of exercise and health eating. I bought and elliptical and eliminated all junk food. I weighed in at 165 and committed myself to the journey, knowing that at 49 years of age it may take a bit more time and effort to undo where I had gotten myself. I am proud to report that after 3 months I am feeling fantastic! And in an effort to continue this journey back to myself I have joined you in the MTM challenge! Thank you for being! Smiles, Marissa

Hi Mayor. I work as a RN at Tahlequah Oklahoma Davita and I am going to join in the summer games and match the Mayor. I joined this company to improve the lives of patients with kidney disorders but over the years as a nurse I have neglected my well being. This year I have decided to do both. Normally I was too tired from being on my feet working many hours taking care of patients that I didn’t want to go jog or work out. This year is going to be different. Hope to have a good before and after pic. looking forward to your feed back

I came to the journal expecting a 2016 entry… but was pleased to read your entry from July 2015 to see that you struggle with the same issues I do. I’m too busy to keep track or to focus on being fit sometimes, but it’s the small habits (choosing healthier food options, parking further away or taking the stairs, etc.) that see me through those times. Hope you are well, look forward to seeing your journals this year!
