lol I love fruits and vegetables. My parents always had a garden and we ate various vegetables. Thanks Mom and dad. My husband is a corn, potatoes, and green beans mostly. He has varied a little more being married to me 35 years. Thought it was funny adding to help the taste. Phew that would burn for me. Keep up the good work.
My biggest problem is enough red meat. Fish is good, but have to make sure I get my meat in occasionally.

JR, Welcome to the villagers trying to eat and be healthier. You asked for suggestions to make the little ones eat better. As a mother of four (now all adults with children) I never could “make” them eat anything. I think you have taken the first step by joining Match the Mayor VII. Share your goals for yourself with your children. You are doing it and showing them. They will respect your effort. Also, I have found working with Head Start children that if they can be involved in making their own goals and preparing foods themselves they will be enthusiastic about eating what they prepared or chose at restaurants and grocery stores.

    Mr. Mayor,

The good ol’ shame tactic worked, huh? As a LCSW, we generally try a more positive approach, but if that works for you, it can’t be all bad! lol

Sunday afternoon I juiced enough veggies for 2 days of 5 glasses of juice per day. It was time-consuming and actually hard work due to the 10 limes, 10 peppers, and 10 cucumbers that were added to the other ingredients. Thank goodness it tasted “okay” because that, my friends, is a lot of juice!

My first day I had juice for breakfast, snack, and lunch. I had a BIG salad for dinner with protein and veggies. Today I had juice for breakfast and made myself an avocado/tomato sandwich on crusty Italian bread with olive oil mayo. I am having a mid-afternoon glass of juice as I type. I am having so many veggies lately, I am unable to add all of them to my blender on the site! Who knew?!

I, too, vascillate between easting my fruits and veggies and, well, not so much, so I have enjoyed this Match-the-Mayor very much!

    All the best,
