Good Evening DaVita,
Kt here on Monday night, about 10:30 pm. I am in Denver, and my thoughts turn to Match the Mayor, our special Village-wide, Country-wide campaign for healthier lives.
Sunday was strong for this little boy. A 2.5 INTENSE mountain biking ride, lots of vertical, with 2 guys who are both better than me. But I shaved 5 minutes off my climb of Mount Falcon (from 52 to 47 minutes), and 16 minutes off my total loop time (from 2 hours 45, to 2 hours 29). So I was elated. And tired. And a couple hours later, sore. But still elated!
So Sunday minutes, with some stretching, was 158 minutes.
Then I had to get all cleaned up, because 3 United States Senators were coming over to our house for a little reception. Senator’s Bennett, Warner, and Harkin. Not often you see 3 of them in the same house outside of Washington DC. This was a great event for putting DaVita on the map with these important officials, and 2 of them have pretty safe seats.
Today has been a normal workday, lots and lots of meetings. I held my workout until tonight, and did 32 solid minutes on the bike, plus a little muscle work and stretching. Total of 41 minutes.
Now I actually have 3 consecutive days in the Casa Nueva in Denver! Hopefully I will get great exercise and do healthier eating and sleeping than I do on those city-hopping business trips (although now that I read what I just typed I realize that should be no excuse—more disciplined scheduling and executing can overcome those travel barriers, I was just too weak for a week).
I look forward to reading the next batch of notes – Let’s Do It! Take care, and hang in there.

Congrats on the time drop. It’s amazing what a big kick it is to know that all the hard work, sweat and pain was worth it. No matter how tired you are it will put a big smile on your face.
I haven’t finished my first treck to the west yet, but will this weekend. I work for an acute facility and our pt load has gone up which means everyones pitches in to complete the ordered treatments… which means less time to concentrate on MM.
I remembered the advise given to us about dancing, so when I’m in the office disinfecting or drawing cultures I turn the radio in the warehouse on and have at it; although there is a complete teammate check to make sure no one is looking 🙂
Good luck, congrats on the time drop and starting back @ Chicago. Enjoy your weekend!

Ditto what Linda said! Thank you for leading the pack! I am nearly there, but not quite (I had one lazy week on the couch after work due to a bad cold)
Congrats on the audience with the senators to increase DaVita’s visibility on the map! That is so awesome!
I had a very intense workout last night – burned >400 calories in 60 minutes of cardio and circuit training, with abs at the end. OoooRAH! as our son the Marine would say!
I have a knee that bugs me once in awhile, but I changed it up a bit so accomodate that old injury and still get a very intense workout in and so I did accomplish that.
This is a fun trip and when I get to the finish line, I’m continuing on, too!
