Today’s Kidney Diet Cookbook: Diabetes and Kidney-Friendly Eating

Over the last two years, DaVita has been honored to collaborate with the American Diabetes Association® (ADA). Due to the link between diabetes and kidney disease, DaVita and the ADA are working together to educate patients and families. This collaboration works to provide education on the prevention and management of diabetes-related kidney disease. Healthy food choices support a healthful lifestyle, and we’re working to make patients and families  aware of how they can plan meals to support both diabetes and kidney disease.

This cookbook showcases both DaVita recipes from as well as ADA recipes from Diabetes Food Hub®. Each recipe has been analyzed to be both diabetes- and kidney-friendly. Some of the recipes included are Breakfast Quesadilla, Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sauce, All American Meatloaf, Bell Pepper Poppers, Popcorn 3 Ways and No-Bake Peanut Butter & Chocolate Bites.

In addition to tasty recipes, there is more information on how to manage both medical conditions. The Diabetes Plate Method—which provides tips on food label reading, what is a carbohydrate and more—offers nutrition education throughout this cookbook.
