Kidney Diet Tips

Preparing for Thanksgiving

08964-COMM-WP-Google+Hangout_Facebook_InstagramHalloween kicked off the fall holiday season with sweet treats and fun. Fast forward a month and here we are at Thanksgiving—the savory food, family and friend-focused holiday. In addition to reflecting on what we are thankful for, Thanksgiving brings more food choices with bigger than usual meals, yummy tempting desserts and leftovers.

For anyone following a special diet—for kidney, diabetes, or heart health—this food-focused holiday can be stressful and even cause health issues related to dietary indulgences. That’s why it’s important to prepare ahead and arm yourself with a plan for this 4-day holiday weekend.

Join me and DaVita Dietitian Matt Rymond at the upcoming Google+ Hangout DaVita Kidney Diet Tips–Holiday Edition to hear about our best tips and tricks for healthy holiday eating. The live event is on Tuesday, November 24th at 1:30 PT/4:30 ET. Register and send in your questions now to join the conversation. If you can’t make it, register anyway and you will receive a playback link after the hangout.

A Google+ Hangout is an interactive video chat that’s free to join and open to anyone. All you need to participate is Internet access and to RSVP before the event here.
