Yo DaVita !
First, I must admit I had ice cream last night. It was a bit after midnight, long day, and I treated myself. Life’s rich pageant !
Second, to Tammy of Winter Park Florida:
You go girl! 10 pounds is awesome! Not only a gift to you, but to your son.
Third, to Kizmat of Atlanta Georgia:
Wow! to go from no exercise to a 60 minute kickboxing class is amazing. i have done karate classes a second time, but my hip joints are so inflexible I was only able to attack other people’s shins … which is quite a handicap. Plus, you have a great name.
Fourth, to Beverlee from Team Liberty in Berwyn, PA:
Congratulations on getting over the hump of that first day! One day at a time, that is the only way to do this. I remember how much harder it was when my kids were younger, so I can empathize big time.
Fifth, to CJ from Tacoma Washington,
I did yoga for a few years, then had to stop when I herniated my disc. Then I was about to start again when I had knee surgery. It is time for me to start again, and reading your message will help me do just that. I hope there is a bikram yoga clinic in Denver, we close on our new house in 2 weeks.
To all 4 of you, thanks for writing in, it gives me a boost to do better today than I would have otherwise. I hope many others of the over 800 teammates in the MM II Campaign find the same energy in the blog.
One for All,
KT

Thanks KT! I was able to squeeze in another set of sit ups this morning and am looking into exercises to do here at work while sitting at my desk to tone up a bit (and without getting silly looks from those around me). I appreciate you sharing the creative ways to get exercise in, even when your lifestlye pervails a crazy schedule. It’s been very helpful to me. If you do not mind, I’m feeling the need to share a rule in our house with you. We do not buy ice cream, soda, any junk food, etc. In fact, we do not even walk down those aisles in the grocery store. Yes, there are special occassions such as birthdays and other special moments were ice cream and other goodies make it all so much sweeter. However, our philosophy is if you do not buy it, you will not eat it. Good luck and make it a great day!

Hey Beverlee,
I think I will implement your house rule in my home also. Thanks for sharing. I think our families will eat whatever we buy, so why not create more healthy options for them. I have to take accountability for what my family eats, especially since I’m the one that cooks and does all of the grocery shopping. I may even have to start packing lunch for my kids also, especially since school food is no longer the best option. It’s amazing how once you begin transforming one area of your life, other areas began to follow. I guess that’s why it’s called a “Life Style” change.

Hey DaVita,
THANK YOU for the Fit Factor Challenge!!! It really helped me to change a few bad eating habits to healthy eating habits. I have gone from drinking soda, eating fast food and no exercising to drinking 80 oz of water per day, healthy smaller meals and exercising 5 times per week at least 45 min per workout. My workouts consist of cardio and strength training. Since participating in the Fit Factor Challenge as of today, Nov 6, 2009 – I have lost a total of 17 lbs. I feel incredible! Have a great day and weekend!!
