Greetings to the Good People of DaVita, Inc.

It is time for Match the Mayor VIII.  That’s right the 8^th time a bunch of us collectively lock arms and pursue healthier lives, and in the meantime savor the adventure of life!

Back in 2008 we had 580 participants. This number climbed a bunch every year until our record of 2013, with 5400 participants in that year (last year our “produce only” goal did not grab as many of you as the normal exercise goal, imagine that).  But 5000 teammates, citizens, family members, friends, and pets is a pretty cool thing, from both the US and the other 10 countries in which we provide precious care and caring.

This year we will have multiple goals, for you to pick from, OR do each of them.

For me:

1. I want to have 5 servings of produce, at least 5 days in the week
2. I want to do 350 minutes of exercise a week.
3. I want to do 10 minutes of quiet time, at least 5 days in the week

I will also do my typical almost daily blog, giving you a sense of what your Mayor does and what is going on around the Village.  Right now it is 10:30 pm, I am on a plane to Utah.  Once I land I have a 40 minute drive to a hotel where I am the facilitator of a healthcare conference, where we will be trying to come up with non-partisan policy recommendations for CMS and the US Congress.  Life’s rich pageant!
