Kidney Diet Tips

Today’s Kidney Diet Holiday Feast Cookbook

November is here—and so is the newest Today’s Kidney Diet Holiday Feast cookbook. Planning your holiday menu and gathering kidney-friendly recipes is sure to be on your to-do list. Make it easier by downloading the new  cookbook and selecting from the 14 holiday recipes inside.

Broccoli and Apple Salad or Southwest Holiday Pasta Salad will bring colors of the season to your table. There’s Roast Turkey of course, but the Slow Cooker Turkey Breast with Carrots and Cranberry Gravy or the Winter Holiday Cranberry-Glazed Pork Roast also make a festive main entrée. If you are looking for a kidney-friendly version of traditional recipes, try the Green Bean Casserole, Garlic Mashed Potatoes (low in potassium) and Challah Holiday Dressing. For the dessert table there’s Cranberry Blondies, Sweet Potato Pie and Cinnamon Apple Bread.

One of my favorite recipes in this cookbook is the Southwest Holiday Pasta Salad. The combination of pasta, corn and black beans are enhanced with bell peppers basil, Italian dressing and a dash of hot sauce. In addition to standing out on the holiday table, the leftover salad (if there is any) is even better the next day or two.

In addition to holiday recipes, you will find shopping tips, holiday food swaps and tips for serving a crowd.
