Kidney Diet Tips

Small Servings Cookbook Now Available

For many people, cooking is something they truly enjoy, whether it’s for their immediately family or large meals for extended family and friends—really and truly creating a feast! However, there are people who may only be cooking for themselves, and maybe their spouse, partner, friend or child. Recipes that make 12 to18 servings may not make sense in those situations.

If you’re part of that second group, the latest Today’s Kidney Diet cookbook, Small Servings, is for you! One of our previous cookbooks, Cooking for One or Two, was so popular that we decided to create even more small, simple recipes for myDaVita members. The new Small Servings cookbook features 14 easy, kidney-friendly recipes that make one or two servings.

In addition to 14 great recipes, you’ll find helpful tips such as how to scale down an existing recipe for smaller servings, “grab-and-go” meal ideas, and easy ways to meal-prep. You’ll also find a 3-day sample menu using the cookbook recipes. We hope this inspires you and gives you new ideas for how to plan out weekly meals, based on your personal preferences.

Many of the recipes in this book are quick and easy. Check out a few of the featured recipes below:

Huevos Rancheros

Turkey Panini

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Every recipe in our Today’s Kidney Diet cookbooks is analyzed by a team of DaVita dietitians to be sure it fits into a kidney-friendly meal plan (taking into consideration if it is a meal, side dish, snack or dessert).
