Friend of DaVita Gains Inspiration from Recent Academy
DaVita’s Academy is a foundational introduction to DaVita – it introduces new teammates at every level of the Village to our history, our unique and intentional culture, our symbols and our traditions. At the heart of the two-day program, held in various locations across the country, is a focus on becoming better human beings by giving teammates exercises to reflect on themselves, and how they show up for others. Academy also allows teammates to network with each other, meet and interact with senior leaders, ask questions and give feedback without censor.
But not just DaVita teammates are invited to attend Academy – we extend the invitation to members of the community, or “Friends of DaVita,” that include elected officials, leaders of other companies and potential partners. They attend to learn about our Village and to gain inspiration for a similar practice at their company or organization.
Recently, Susan Heinzeroth from SageRiver Consulting attended an Academy in Denver, CO. Susan was inspired by DaVita’s intentional approach to fostering teammate engagement, and she wrote a blog post describing what she learned and would like to share with her clients.
