DaVita® Stories

A Tradition of Giving

Traditions resound throughout the DaVita Village. Our traditions, along with our more than 70,000 teammates, help create a special place and make our Village what it is. In honor of the holiday season—the season of tradition—I would like to pay tribute to a couple different Village customs.

At DaVita, we strive to be a community first, and a company second. Our Trilogy of Care (Caring for Our Patients, Caring for Each Other and Caring for Our World) is one of the ways we bring this unique culture to life. The Trilogy of Care is fostered, in part, by our Village Programs.

While alive and well throughout the year, our Village programs also give teammates the chance to give back during the holiday season. Below are a few Village Programs teammates can participate in to give back:

Our Village Programs may be compared to a tree with ornaments. The Village Programs are the ornaments: while beautiful and to be treasured, they are not the community itself. The community is the tree, which is based on how we treat each other, and ultimately, how we care for each other. By participating in these programs, we come together to transform our Village into a truly special place.

How fitting that we can use the tree to talk about the special Village we are a part of—a Village that we, coupled with our goodwill efforts, compose. During this season of reflection, I hope all our teammates will take a moment to appreciate the unique aspect they add to the Village and bask in the glow of the lights.
