If the Shoe Fits – DaVita Donates Thousands of Shoes to Elementary Schools Through Shoes-A-Palooza
Teammates from The Grove and Gold Coast Division in Southern California donate shoes to children at Leo Carrillo Elementary School in Westminster, Calif. during the annual Shoes-a-palooza drive.
Continuing a tradition that began nine years ago, DaVita’s annual Shoes-A-Palooza drive brought in more than 9,800 pairs of shoes for kids in need just this year, all donated by teammates across our Village. And since expanding our partnership with the Shoes That Fit organization in 2011, we’ve donated nearly 50,000 pairs of shoes to children in need across the nation.
Exemplifying this year’s commitment to making our communities a better place is DaVita’s Pacific Gold Division, who ended up donating shoes for more than 1,200 kids in Bakersfield, CA last month.
Regional Operations Manager Damon Kinton said it best – “It’s great working for DaVita because we truly put the community first. If you can imagine, 1,200 kids today are going to be getting a brand new pair of shoes.”
