“Children and older people are also at higher risk.”
Where else can I read about this?

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention website is a great resource for more information on food safety. Here’s a link to the site’s salmonella information: http://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/

You can do a google search on Salmonella and find some great information on the subject. Usually children and older people are more at risk due to reduced immunity.
